Sagat Returns to Street Fighter 6: Capcom Confirms August 5 Release with Teaser Trailer

In a thrilling revelation that has fans buzzing, Capcom officially announced the return of Sagat, the Muay Thai King and one of Street Fighter’s most iconic characters. It was released in a teaser trailer that dropped during the June Capcom Spotlight event. Sagat officially joined the Street Fighter 6 on August 5, 2025, becoming the first ever playable character in the highly anticipated Year 3 content lineup.

This easer trailer was released while the brief is loaded with an atmosphere and nostalgia. Set up against a dusky Thai backdrop the video features in a training forest delievring a thunderous Tiger Uppercut that slits a massive tree trunk on two a nod to his raw power and discipline. Although Capcom has not yet unveiled its full gameplay trailer, the visual style and setting reflected a classic Sagat vibe, which is reimagined through the sharp lens of SF6’s new engine.

The announcement is not just about bringing a fan favourite fighter back; it is about what he represents. Sagat was one of the original bosses of Street Fighter II and later evolved into a disciplined warrior seeking redemption. His reintroduction into Street Fighter 6 adds both narrative depth and competitive excitement, especially for long-time players who have missed his commanding presence in the arena.
