India’s S8UL Qualifies for Esports World Cup 2025 Finale in Apex Legends
In a historic moment for India’s quickly growing esports industry, S8UL Esports has qualified for the grand finale of the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC) in the Apex Legends category. The qualification also makes this the first time that India will be represented in a global final of the game Apex Legends, which is a landmark achievement in the South Asian gaming space.
S8UL is an organization initially started by Indian gaming veterans, Mortal (Naman Mathur) and 8Bit Thug (Animesh Agarwal), who have worked their way up the tiers in esports. While they previously had huge success in titles such as PUBG Mobile, BGMI, and Pokemon Unite, their qualification for Apex Legends, which has traditionally been seen as a Title dominated by NA and EU, is considered an underdog story.
After many months of hard regional qualifiers and scrims with the top teams of SEA, MEA, and East Asia, S8UL’s Apex Legends trio secured a top-three finish in the Asia-Pacific qualifiers that took place virtually last week and earned their official slot at the EWC finale in Riyadh this August.
The S8UL Apex squad includes:
- S8UL_Bladz (Captain) – He usually plays hyper-aggressively with outstanding zone control.
- S8UL_Rexy – A clutch master with incredible sniper accuracy.
- S8UL_DemonZ – The strategic genius and support healer balancing utility with aggression.
The trio’s synergy and adaptability led to the team being able to outperform some world-renowned teams, such as FENNEL, Team Secret, and DetonatioN Gaming.
India’s participation in a prestigious FPS like Apex Legends is a groundbreaker in the in-depth understanding of global esports geography. It opens doors to hundreds of aspiring Indian FPS players, who, up until this point, could only see limited success on an international stage with PC FPS shooters and titles.
Major brands, including AMD India, Zebronics, and Loco, are now supporting the team for global exposure.S8UL’s qualification trending on social media under the #S8ULToRiyadh peaked with more than 3 million tweets in 24 hours.
Scheduled for 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Esports World Cup 2025 is the largest esports tournament series in the world, spanning multiple titles, and with a prize pool of over $60 million USD. Apex Legends has a prize pool of USD 3 million alone, with teams like TSM, Fnatic, NRG, and Alliance confirmed for the final call of duty.
S8UL will be competing in a 48-team battle, which will cross multiple maps, round-robin stages to complete, and multiple elimination brackets. The global broadcast of the grand finale will take place on YouTube, Twitch, and Disney+ Hotstar.
With the world eagerly awaiting the next evolution in esports, S8UL’s qualification in Apex Legends represents not only a watershed moment in Indian esports but a watershed moment for gaming as a whole, demonstrating unequivocally that talent has no boundaries.
With millions waiting, dreams at stake, and history all lined up before them, it is time for Team S8UL to show the world what they are made of at the Esports World Cup 2025 Apex Legends Grand Finale.
